How to restore factory settings on Windows Vista (HP)

Iv got a HP laptop. I was never given a recovery disc. Iv tried google but there is no clear answer. Can anyone help me restore to factory settings?

It's usually on a hard disk partition.

No i didnt get any disk with it? Any other way?

Most new laptops don't ship with physical recovery discs now. It's on a partition on your hard drive, unless you have deleted it.

Restart your laptop and press f7 (I think) and it will take you through the recovery process.
