How to turn off ESP??

Anyone know how to turn off esp? The button to the right of the steering wheel does nothing at all ! Help !

Yep with the igniton on and off ! Its a 182 by the way

Nope under the wheel to the right next to the cruise control switch and the screen brightness switch !

has the steering wheel ever been removed that you know of? will probably be a sensor if it does nothing at all. There are threads on here about the tilt sensor causing issues similar to this.

Well that is the only way mate, there must be an electrical fault somewhere

If it isnt a problem with the light itself (taken out/covered up) then get it on a clip, it will be realated to your other problem.

Right ive just done that and infact the abs/esp light isent coming on ! Does that mean that they are disabled ? Cheers for your replys guys !

Could possibly mean the bulbs are gone, or that someone has purposely covered them up for some reason?. Does abs work? I'm guessing it does if the ESP works.

how long have u had it fella and did u buy it from a dealer.
looks to me like previous owner had the abs, esp, serv lights on and has taken he bulbs out or covered them up. not 1 of those 3 lights are coming on.
if you have recently bought i, take it back and get it sorted.

Sod renault, local garage shud have half decent equipment, im only saying do this through my experience at work. Anything ESP/ ABS related arent usually a cheap fix.... Fingers crossed its just bulbs though

Oh yeah I recall seeing that thread. This is really odd. It sounds expensive. I wouldn't take it to a dealer though, try and find a specialist near you.

There isn't really anyone near bradford.

There is RSTuning in leeds who may be able to help you. Other than that the nearest specialist is Birchdown near chester. There is also a guy over the border, think he lives near bolton who has a clip machine who might help you out

The ESP and service lights come on when the airbag connector under the seat is dud.... it can mean a lot of different things ranging from 24p for a resistor to £xxx . Don't panic until you've had a CLIP diagnostics.

hope it was cheap fella. it could be many things tbh, an abs ring/sensor, brake pedal sensor(pray for this),steering wheel fault. when a garage plugs in the diagnostics it should tell u though. either way i would be on the phone to the guy u bought it off and explain.
he may tell u to do one or you may get some money back if he flaps at the thought that things may get worse for him.

yeh everytime i go at a certain speed and sharply turn the wheel its asif the wheel locks up its really wierd!!

I did a diagnostics and this is what came up anyone know any of the faults ?

Apparently some were in the airbag?

The steering angle sensor is behind the steering wheel, common for them to play up, dunno about the rest, where did you get the diag done?

my mate a mechanic had a diagnostic machine he did it last night for me its probably not as accurate as a CLIP diagnosis but he id use to work for Renault.
