How would you remove this bolt?

As above. It's an rounded Allan bolt.

It's recessed about 50mm

So far I've tried a torx bit hammered into it but all I do is round it off more!

It's pissing me off now!

Hammer a bigger torx bit in, works 90% of the time, give it some death.

Failing that sometimes you can whack a multihex socket over it, space permitting.

Yeah it's the space thats stopping me getting at it. You can't get a drill in as the chuck gets in the way.

I'm going to buy some cheaper (softer) torx bits tomorrow to see if I can get one to mash into it. It seems too hard to chisel into but I'll buy a finer chisel and try that.

I can't use a welder as it'll bugger the magnesium head and with the room I have I'll probably tack it to the coolant pipe.

If you do get a bit on it then it might be worth using an impact driver on it. One of the old fashioned hit it with a hammer type.

Before you try any of the above get it really hot with a small ish blow torch this will also help loosen any lock tite.

Have you tried shocking it with a soft drift and a hammer? Also worth applying some penetrating oil and leaving for a while. Any type of screw driver approch won't work as the bolt will be far too tight, hence rounding off in the first place. Good luck!

The bolt is like cheese. Going to have to drill the head off it and extract the stub hopefully.
