How would you solve this problem?

Righto basically my drive is flat but loose gravel, I'd hazard a guess its turned over soil covered with canvas and covered with gravel but quite deep in places.

Anyhoo I need to be able to jack the car up safely and I feel I need to put something under the jack and the axel stands when I'm working on it..

I could do with some suggestion on what to use? basically something that I can stick in the garage when i'm not using it/them but strong enough and cheap enough to get that will be upto the task.

Anyone have a similar issue?

I cracked one trying it think I'll go with the wood!
