HT leads and spark plug covered in oil

Checked my spark plugs and the end one near the oil filler cap has a load of oil in it. I worked out that this must have been where the garage that serviced it must have spilt it there whilst topping it up. Is it gunna effect my spark? It seems to be runnin fine and must have been like it some time! Shall i just undo the spark plug and let it drop through and make my car smoke for a bit?

Just take it out and wipe up the excess. Should be fine I would have thought.

i think that you will find that its the rocker cover gasget mate! common problem on the 16v. not expensive to do.

No it aint mate. Its just a puddle in the one spark plug tunnel type things. Its where when filling if you miss a bit it all happens to poor into their! No other anywhere and no leaks!

mine did it as well in same same one near the filler cap.changed the rocker cover gasket and now its fine!

if the rocker cover gasket leaks it can leak into the plug holes.if its only the one near the filler cap its probably where people have spilt oil in the past.
