Im wanting to get some alpine gear for my clio Mk3

They are a Head Unit, Door Componets front & rear, Front tweeters, 6x9s and a sub

could i use a 4 channel amp to power the 6x9s and the sub and run the components from the head unit? what alpine amps do i need to power all the speakers?

my old mans mate has got a shop and wants to get rid off alpine gear realy cheap. Can u answer my question because im clueless when it comes to amps

sorry basically you make it 3 chnnel you combine the power of the rear 2 channels to make even more power to drive the sub

oh rite i c. as an alternative, could i have a 4 chan amp to power components and a two chan to power 6x9 and sub?

alpine are bloody good, solid and nice sounding...although they are expensive

If your getting it cheap, then I see no reason for not getting all alpine

I agree, if your getting a sub/or two...ditch the 6x9s.

no dont do the 6x9s mate just get some good coaxials in the rear

you could use a 2 channel for an amp if you wanted but you cant put any more on it

think he means to run both rear channel from the same power source.

Personally id stick the 6by9s in the shelf at the back, but run em off the HD - just give a bit of rear fill

Run the components off a separate amp from your sub. And it shud sound nice up front. bear in mind alpine comps do lack power when not amped - so ive heard.

cheers dogmaul for ur advice. The speakers and subs are all alpine type-r. r they any good? if not what components would you recommend?

cheers for ur advice dogmaul. Alpine type-r components are the ones that im getting. Do you know if they are any good? if not what components do you recommend?

i was told that focal are excellent but they need to have a decent amp like a genesis to run them. I listen to hip hop and hard house if that helps. r they suitable for that type of music?

Sounds like its gonna be a nice setup mate. My old clio had a Alpine setup in it and it was very nice.

First get some coaxials for the back. Then get a 4 channel amp and power all 4 speakers. not familiar with the new range, but something like a 4x80W should do the trick.

next you want to get prefrebly a mono block amp to power the type-r (which are very good subs) but if not, get a highed powered 2 channel and bridge them.

With this setup, you might want to consider a power cap jus to make sure its nice and dandy. good luck...should sound sweeeeet!

If you put coaxials in the back, where woudl you put them?

I was told a better set up woudl be front components and then a sub in the back.

Amping components makes a huge difference. As long as the crossovers are set correctly on the amps, you will see good results with incresed volume, less distortion and more midbass.

A good way to get extra midbass from the system is to make wooden or fibreglass boxes behind the front components and rear speakers if you have any.

With regards to Alpine equipment. It is decent enough. Personally I would only use their amps to power components or speakers etc as the big amps for subs draw lots of power from the electrical system..even the class D amps draw more than other makes of amp with the same wattage.

With the rear fill query. It depends what you prefer. I have always liked some sound coming from behind but faded a fair bit to the front. If you are planning on having rear speakers then the best place is either in the rear quarters or in the standard speaker positions

it doesnt really matter what components you choose for different types of music. The sound isnt affected as much as with subs.

As a guide I would say go for some 6.5"comps as youll gain extra mid and usually have higher power handling capabilitie..make sure they are amped up.

The difference between coax and component is that components have an outboard crossover as well as a seperate tweeter. this improves sound quality and enables speakers to be positioned in the best places for directing sound.
