I need some help please. Amsterdam. Gearbox.

Hi all,
I am looking for some help. My gearbox/diff bearings have gone and so I expect it to fail any time soon. I have stopped using the car and now it sits rusting away in the carpark.

Does anyone know someone who can supply and fit a second hand gearbox in the Amsterdam/Noord Holland area? I have tried Veban, but they don't seem to want the job. I have had a quote from renault, and I am looking at 2500 Euros (car is not even worth that much)

I don't want to loose my car, but at this point I have not much choice but to scrap it, if I cant get it fixed.

Can't you ship over a secondhand one from the UK and get some local transmission specialist to fit it for you?

I'd do that^ ship one from here, get it fitted by a local garage.

That's not a bad plan. It's finding someone who will pallet and ship a box though.
If I can't find a local supplier, I'll definitely look into this. Thanks!

I'm sure someone like cliospares, or whatever they're called now, or even a helpful member on here who's breaking a car would do it for you.
