ice install

a mate has just installed a sub and amp into his 172 he drilled a hole underneath the back seat for his earth and covered it with silicone, he also drilled a hole in the bulkhead to feed the power lead through, he covered this in silicone also, just wondering if ths is ok, hes a little worried about the holes rusting, what do you guys think??

there was no need to drill a hole in the bulkhead to get the power wire through, there is already a hole with a gromet up behind the glove box,

and in the boot he could have used a seat belt mounting point, but its done now anyway, it should be fine with silicone, make sure he does each side!

yeah i know theres a rubber gromet behind the glovebox but he didnt, weve just covered the hole at the bulkhead inside and out, he drilled the hole under the rear left seat(behind the passenger seat) for the earth and cant seem to get to the underside to put silicone on it, he tried to earth it to the seatbelt mounting but got lots of interference on the sub, theres no interference under the rear seat so thats fine, thanks for the advise guys. hes really worrying about the underside of the the rear seat.
