Idle Kit....wtf!

  Volvo S60 T5
Is that like a fallopian tube for bleeding the brake?
Dylithium crystals for the ecu type thing.

Can't say I have ever heard of an idle kit, maybe a cambelt idler pulley of acc. belt idler pulley, but not for the idle itself.

Anyway it needs replacing, is it part of the cambelt kit?

My car is really lumpy at idle and at low revs when driving, say 30mph in 3rd, just crusin the car is a little jumpy.

Well in all my years of fixing cars have never heard of an idle kit for rough running.
When they sort it post up the part number from the invoice.

I've been waiting for my car for 2 days now, fookin unorganised mupets, and the bint on the desk did say this was free 'to me' what ever the fook that means. Probably doesn't exist? lol

Anybody guess what the bint on the desk was refering to when she said i'd need an idle kit to sort out my engines lumpy idle problems..........

first correct answer wins a mars bar!! lol :)

On the 172 there is an aditional idler pulley which runs the aux belt (alt p/s etc). and is located at the bottom front of the engine. If the car is at Renault then they will always change this pulley as well, when canging the belts. If you are spending the money getting the belts changed the bit extra is well worth paying. Dont forget that its done as much work as the rest that need to be changed and a belt failure 172 is an expensive beast to rebuild.
