idle query

What should my 172 ph1 be idling at?

depends if its cold or if its heated up the idle on them is all over the place when you first fire it up

when cold (first start) about 11k
when warm around 9k
something like that.

mine idles lower than that if i remember ill go check when its not pissing down with rain but im sure mines between 800-1100rpm when just fired up and <900 or less when warm ill find out in a min

is yours idling at 5k? or 500rpm?

Probably a bit low, but as long as it's not stalling, I wouldn't worry too much..

checked mine earlier and its 800-1000 when cold and 500-900 warm dont think there is any problems there mate

Could be worth cleaning the idle control valve, as on my old clio it was oiled up with dirt on, after i cleaned it the idle was perfect.

Once warmed up i think it should be 750rpm, or 850rpm if the air con is on.

Mines cat cammed with 428s and re-mapped and idles at 500. Saying that.. it did before. 500 when warm and roughly 1k when cold is norm I'd say
