Idling high and fluctuating.

The idling speed on my Clio 1.6SI 8V 1999 is high, often fluctuating between 1000 and 1500 rpm. Disconnecting the battery for a few moments clears the fault, but over a few days it gradually comes back again.

There's no misfiring, and the engine has full power when the accelerator is pressed.

Any suggestions would be much appreciated.

Are you getting the light on dash below the petrol one, rectangular with wiggly line, like a graph. Because it sounds like I'm having the same problem

No lights on the dash in my case.
