Iffy central locking from keyfob

This isn't a serious issue, yet. But it is pretty annoying.

Every now and then the central locking doesnt work as easily as it should from the fob, in the past I've just bought a new battery and it has worked.
Now though it'll only work if my fingers bleed from pressing the button and aiming it at (where I think) the receiver is. Which kind of defeats the object, seeing as I'm practically touching the car at the time.

I've tried the reset thing pressing the central locking button in the car, didn't do much.

Central locking does work just not as it should with the fob. And the car has no problems starting or anything. Touch wood..

Is it fobbed? Or is there some magic trick I can do?

And no, I stupidly haven't got a spare.

Take the key apart and you'll probably find the tiny button has become un-soldered from the PCB, or will as soon as you touch it. Had 2 keys do this, for 2 different ph1's. Managed to re-solder both of them back on though.

put a new battery in the fob i know you have replaced it but thats where i would start and if it still doesnt i'd try a new receiver.

I forgot to mention earlier that, weirdly, when the fob is being stupid and won't work unless you're very close to the car, the only way to open the car via central locking is the clarkson fob-to-the-head technique and it works every time. Making me look like a complete nugget.

The button hasn't become unsoldered, it's stuck solid, apart from the little flappywingtabs (new word). However Ive just pulled them out a bit more, and it seems to have done the job. But, it's not all good, my relentless opening of said fob has borked the way it stays together. Cook a cat.

Thanks bollo.
