I'm beginning to regret buying the RS...

Nightmare! You must be so pissed off with that car now. Once sorted by Ford just get shut and get one of the other hyper hatches. It's just not worth the worry IMO.

Technically I don't have to let them sort it out...I can just reject the car.

The first engine went pop within six months of delivery, I gave them a chance to fix my car, and now 10k miles later this engine still isn't right. From day one in exchange for my hard earned they have given me a faulty car...last resort and all that...I've no idea what I would replace it with!

Apart from a manual M140i + LSD. Maybe. Hmmmm.

Reject it and get full refund?

If so I’d be giving that a go regardless!

Fix or repair daily, I would never even go in a Ford Dealership and we have employees discount, ? get it fixed in time to px for Megane Trophy.

If you get your money back for it then get a year old M2 manual for mid 30's, watching your videos, even though they aren't really my thing, I think you'd love it as a car.

FWIW you can still get M3s and 4s on 0% from BMW.
M140i is a stellar choice too, the B58 engine is a monster (as you’re well aware I’m sure)

Oh no such bad news from an enthusiast. Im sure you could just reject it now after all this plus your public videos of the car.
New civic is worth a punt and so is the new golf R.

Or just keep going and see how many engines you can get ford to fit to one car?

At the very least with this current issue I’d be looking for extended warranty agreements. Have you discussed this?

Damn that's frustrating. I have the ST and have seen issues with pistons although it seems rare. Is the RS engine more prone to issues? I read a lot of the issues stem from going full throttle at low revs. Still not nice to worry all the time though.

Just skimmed through the video but I highly doubt that light misting of oil around the head area is a leak. Well a leak That would cause Power loss anyway. I’m not saying the gasket isn’t leaking internally, but I would hazard a guess it’s a minor hiccup. Again have you got access to ALL the boost pipe clamps? Can you be sure?it will
Most likely be something small like this or a boost solenoid etc.

Don’t give up home on it yet mate, however getting your FMD to carry out the correct diagnosis could be a headache. I would as a priority get your obd scanner working somehow and check boost levels and check dtc codes

Heard early Rs suffered badly with engine problems! Thought later ones got out of that problem..

Not sure I’d buy a Rs unless it was a early Cosworth escort or serria..

I’d go for a Megane trophy or trophy R

Sure it's not just a leaking hose or connector??

s**t hose design seems to be Ford's forte at the moment, finding ever new and moronic ways to f**k up a simple design.

I like following these, got all the bells & whistles.

Sit on it`s tail and you won`t get a ticket in the post.

Judging by the needle bouncing up and down I wouldn’t be surprised if it was a boost control solenoid.

On the mk2 generation they’re renowned for being failure prone and OEMs have a habit of mounting them on hot turbos.

Looks like a deliberate boost remap.

Not like the old days when you adjust the boost with an 11m spanner.

Car would be gone for me, trust/confidence starts to go and spoils the experience...

MK2 focus rs? ?

Same here would always be thinking it would go wrong. Also the resale value issue would concern me I know a fair few people who would not buy one now.
Who wants a newish 30 k car that's on it 2nd possibly 3rd engine.
Plenty of other choices out there now.

As long as it’s warrantied who cares. Any engine in any car you buy has a risk of developing issues.

This plus the phantom steering issues....I would not be looking at one of these if I had the cash.

s**t the bed mate not again. As above, if you are confident at getting a refund, I would take it and run. Even if they sort it, you will be constantly thinking about the next issue.

How's yours goin?
