Im Gutted. Car has been keyed....

never had any problems with this sort of thing before, not pissed any off as far as i know, and there is only 3 places it could have happened.

I started a new job this week and i leave my car at my mates and travel with him. Theres an alleyway near by, but i never noticed anything when i got to the car last night, about 6pm.

Then i was parked at my mates, his flat overlooks the carpark and the door was open....would have noticed someone sniffing around the car, infact ive just spoke to him and says he will get onto management who have cctv installed there.

Then theres my house, a quiet close, and im right at the top of it well out the way, never have any problems crime wise down there.

So basically i dont know where exactly it happened.

2 on the passenger door, 1 about 15inches, one about 8 or 9 inches.

2 on the boot, both about 6 inches.

All are deep and gone to the metal. Only noticed it this morning, and i dont know if im more angry or upset!!

Bad day for both of us? Someone keyed a massive dick on my bonnet, luckly it wasn't down to the metal; It made is feel sick knowing it was there tho, My friends dad sorted it out for me last night =].

Makes me sick though; I think basically 90% of my marks, dents scratches are due to going to my sixth form. Its a s**t whole, in a s**t place if am being blunt, right next to a s**t college. We're not allowed to park on the premises so we've got some dodgey little lay by to park in which fits about 15 cars tops.

I hope you get it sorted bud; Things like that are a killer. Chances are its just been some little scum bag done it for the crack.

We never found out why and have no clue who would want to do it.

It may just be they fault the car was someone else's?

This is one reason I made sure that I have a garage to keep the car and bikes in.

strange thing is, when ive read about other people having this kind of thing happen to them, i get really wound up by it, and think that if that was ever my car, i try and hunt the person down and key their face. But in all honesty i dont feel like that at the minute, i just feel gutted that ive worked hard for it, and some mindless tw*t has just gone and done that.

i dont think ill ever find out who it was unless it was done at my mates with the cctv of course. which means that whoever it was will just get away with it.

last year i wanted a couple of dents and chips sorting out....quoted £600 from a non-renault garage, i hate to think how much that, plus an additional 4 large deep scratches will cost.

Aout 20 years ago my dad owned a lotus Europa. It was immaculate and was in several mags.

One day he went for a drink with my mum and when he came out of the pub he caught some guy keying his lotus in the car park.

Really sorry to hear this Mark. Little f*****s like that need teaching a damn good lesson in my opinion.

Two weeks after I got my car from new some little s**t came along and put a knuckle dent in the bonnet, and now I have another matching one the other side of the bonnet. Also a week after I got the alarm fitted some little s**t tried to get my wheels TWICE. They fialed but marked one of the wheels. I also have a key scratch right by the lock on the drivers door, looks like someone has tried to get in it. There was also a long key scratch down the off side rear quater and other deliberate scratches on that bit too. Fortunately for me Dunc managed to get most of those ones out. All the damage has happened whilst it's been parked in my drive that's what really gets me. They must come along really late at night to do it too. b******s!

Unfortunately though Mark, even if the cctv has managed to catch them doing it, there is very little chance of you actually finding the little s***s to get them done. This kind of thing makes me really angry and I swear if I ever catch anyone doing something like this to my car, they will end up in hospital. I know voilence isn't the answer but I just know I won't be able to stop myself.

I hope you can get it all sorted out at a reasonable price mate. Gutted for you.

Most of the time it probably is kids. What really gets to me is the fact that even if you were to catch the little f*****s and manage to restrain them whilst you call the Police, there is very little the Police can actually do if they are minors. I feel sorry for the Police in situations like these as I know they would love to be able to do something, but unfortunately there are now stupid laws that protect these little brats!

Im not sure if it would be kids or not, but with the 'youth of today' it could well be.

To get 1 key scratch is bad, and is enough to piss anyone off, but 4? god knows what ive done to deserve that.

Debz - just proves you cant have anything nice nowadays, you sound like you have had no end of problems! ive had the 182 well over a year now and never had any problems. The cctv will probably not help me indentify anyone in anyway, but will tell whether or not it was done at my mates house.

clio-girl - i actually have 1 or 2 small dents and stone chips on the bonnet which i wanted to get sorted a couple of weeks ago, but i knew damn well that something like this would happen afterwards, i may aswell get everything done at once now and pay the price, and just hope it doesnt happen again.

It seems to be an all too common problem Alex. No end of people on here have dealt with vandalism, and as said before ive NEVER has problems like this...i once had ketchup thrown over this car, and had my aerial stolen (1.2 clio) but this is just low.

On a lighter note yes the ketchup has been cleaned off the car incase anyone makes a joke about inferno

Christopher - not sure how im going to get it sorted yet mate, im going to have to get it done fairly quick as the b**tards have gone right to the metal.

i started a new job on monday, so its been a very mixed week, luckily i will be earning more money so it should be easier for me financially to sort this out.

that said, it doesnt make it right, and doesnt make me feel much better about it all.
