imobaliser help

hey
after the continuous leak of my sunroof
(which is nearly fixed)
the immobiliser sensor (in roof) if a bit ... how u say... ill...)
every now and then it doesn't want to open and i have to unplug it and plug it back in before it works again...

if i go scrappy and get a new sensor... will it work with my original key? or do i have to find a car in scrappy with the key fob?

or is there a way i can reprogram the one from scrappy to work with my key..

(i know there is a thread about reprogramming but dunno if its for MK1s aswell.)

really need help... just happned again..
and my keys dont open the doors manually.. so i have to climb through the boot to get into my car...

pull out the reciever unit and see what part number is on it , some recievers are specific to key and some are fit any car. post up the number and i can tell you.
