Improving some old ford trim

So as some might know on here I've got a late 4x4 saphh, the gearstick surround breaks on them and they're no longer available. The reason I believe they break is there's two clips on the side that didn't seem to engage on mine (mine wasn't broken in the common place but can see why they go).

Anyway I drew some up on SOLIDWORKS modified to what I thought would work and had them 3D printed. I'm a toolmaker by trade and during my apprenticeship worked on jigs and fixtures for Sony, Hitachi etc. basically the electronics industry. Glued the 3d printed parts onto the surround and fitted perfect! The ford ones were short by 0.75mm so not clipping onto anything. Here's some photos

Nice work!

Get them listed on eBay and the Ford forums/sites, and then watch requests for all the other unobtanium bits come rolling in :D lol

Thanks, tbh they'll need a bit of fettling probably as I'd bet that the surrounds and centre consoles aren't the same dimensions. Needs to be done by someone competent too not just a case of gluing on and hoping for the best!

Can I buy a set off you please??

Hi Daniel, saff looks good. Couldn't comment on your post as it says I don't have sufficient privileges.

I've only had the clips 3D printed, not the whole surround
