In need of a little Mk2 PH1 and MK2 PH2 help

Hi i am thinking about gettin a new car hopefully a mk2 ph1 172 and i was just woundering if the engine, exhaust and well most of the over parts are the same as on a mk2 ph2? and will fit a mk2 ph1 and a mk2 ph2? (except all the obvious bits like the bumpers and interior)

Which ever you are talking about there are a lot of similarities but there are also some unexpected differences.

engine is the same across the range for the most part. I believe there are some differences on the intake. The exhaust/manifold is different on each of the variants (mk2 ph1 172, mk2 ph2 172, 182) Suspension is different. Other than exhaust parts most aftermarket parts are interchangeable
