Incorrectly Manufactured Alternators are in the marketplace

  Renault Clio 182 Cup
Purchase VALEO 439302 ONLY

There has been many many many Alternators built by other brands that have somehow entered the market manufactured incorrectly. This is now a complete minefield. Even a Bosch alternative has been manufactured incorrectly.

They have been manufactured with the top cover electrical connection in the wrong location which means the loom is not long enough to reach and the main power line clashes with the A/C lines.

It has taken many many hours to convince a certain online parts store that all the alternators they have on the shelf will not fit the vehicle they are specified for.

The Valeo Part is correct with the plug closest to the mounting end with the locating pin (Left hand on first image). All the others are wrong.

And no, no amount of shouting and crowbar action will make it work. Perhaps these fit some other vehicle, but they do not replace Renault 82 00 193 100 which they are advertised as doing so.

These 2 alternators (two different brands) are on the shelf at an online store, which they used to try to tell me along the lines of "they are all like this, you ordered the wrong part."

These are only good for scrap:

Tried fitting it anyway, it will not fit. Unless you intend on removing the air conditioning.

Stud for power rail hard into metal A/C line. Good luck!

Not shown, loom not long enough for the plug.

Please don't ask about the metal snips either 🤬

Looks like they have put the back cover on upside-down can you not unscrew it and turn it 180 degrees and fit it like that?

There's a great big stud right where the electrical connector is supposed to be tho?

The entire unit is 180 degrees out

Unfortunately no.

The casting is incorrect. There are holes for wiring which are different between them. You can see this at the 6 o'clock area of the old one, the three holes for the soldered wiring. These are at the 12 o'clock on the new one.

I work at an electronics manufacturer now and was going to fix it at work. No dice.
