Induction noise peaks at 4k?

Recently fitted a pipercross viper to my 1.6 16v. The sound is amazing but its loudest at 4k rpm then quietens down abruptly after that... (~4250) is their any reason for this?

Dunno mate, mine does the same sort of thing on my 172!

I find my maxogen gets quiter over 5k.

my 1.4 16v does it, but quietens a bit higher, like 5ish

Yeah my bmc also does the same. I took it off however because I lost throttle response and the car was running to damn rich after I'd fitted it. Distinct smell of petrol coming out the back.
