Any one got their insurance renewal due soon???

If so anyone getting some stupid renewal quotes coming through?

I am insured on the car with my mum as the main driver, we do share the car about 50/50 ish and in a year or so she is getting her own car to use, but at the moment this works sweet for me, nice and cheap (WELL IT WAS BEFORE)

Bearing in mind the car is only a 1.2 1998 clio RN, she is over 50, 15 years no claims, i am 19 0 ncb to my name yet, but last year i got a quote of £404 fully comp for the year.

Renewal comes through £1019??? same company, no points no nothing, and now the cheapest quote i can get is like £630???? Anyone know why?

HELP PLEASE

Cheers guys (and gals)

Tbh 630 notes doesn't seem too bad considering you've got no ncb, hell i payed £1800 on a 1.2 when i was 17. Its just the disadvantage to being a named driver/fronting you don't get any ncb so you'll get stung one day or another.

You just have to grit your teeth and pay it the first year.

Not fronting as such, because she does use the car, i live very local to my college so don't use it when she does during the week, she just looks funny in it. Surely its just common sense to put her as main driver to save me money.

The main problem was how exactly they're justifying more than doubling the quote, and then why exactly i cant even that close to my last quote.

Has everyone experienced a premium raise this year??

I did, norwich union was quoting me more on my car with 2ncb than I payed last year with 1ncb! Just there way of saying "no thanks mate" basically.

The prices seem pretty fair considering your age and amount of NCB you have!!

Its all to do with risk still.

Your still seen as a young driver especially with 0 NCB.

I paid much higher prices in my standard 1.0 Micra and 1.2 Clio. Just be sensible, earn some NCB and watch the prices fall.
