Install 6x9's?

Hi,

How would I go about doing this?

Would I have to cut into the rear speaker wire? As currently the rear has no speakers so im not sure if it even has the wire there or not.

How can I take the rear door cards out to check, or can I just slice into the fronts if I really had to?

On my ph1 non sport there was no rear speaker wire, so I ran my own from the back of the headunit, take a bit of patience though.

Cant an electric in halfords do it for you for like 20-30quid?

Can be done in 1 hour really.. took me 40minutes on a 1.4 with a stanley knife, 2 screw drivers and some electric tape and i was doing it myself for the first time.. although that did have speakers at the back which i cut the wire from.

If you wanna do it yourself i am sure you can find guides on here or google on how to go about wiring the back.

either that or run them off a small amp to get the best out of them, then that would be a case of running more wires,but depends what your after!

Thanks for all the comments so far, ive got 3 pre-outs on the HU, one for Sub, Rear and Front. Their RCA inputs, would I need adapter cables to run the speaker wires from the 6x9's into them? and would two left wires go into one left RCA input?

You won't fit 6x9's in the rear door cards.

I know, their going in the parcel shelf as i already has the holes cut in there from previous owner so I just need to pull up the sticky covering they put over it and screw them into the shelf and put carpet back over, think its a stealth shelf.

yes RCA to speaker wires is easier, get them from motorworld or halford stores, dont think they cost a right lot either tbh, and run them from the rear set!

its one for each mate, so one of your RCA's will feed off into 2 speaker wires, obv positive and negative and the same for the other RCA, into 2 speaker wires. so one RCA for each speaker
