insurance help

I'm 18 (well on thursday) Have been driving since september. Have a years ncb on a scooter. In a cat D postcode. Driving a 1.2 16v clio extreme 4 on a 55 plate. approx 8000 miles per year.

What would you consider a fair price for insurance, like a target price. I know obviously you cant give me an exact premuim but money supermarket etc come up with quotes of £2000 + recon the cheapest will be direct line at 1700ish but that still seems a lot.

advice would be great if poss

Thanks

Brett

My first car was a 1.5 Pug 106 when I was 18 and I paid £1100 Fully Comp with Tesco.
Just a case of searching around!

yeh i'll have a good shop around, going to start saving up some of my wages soon aswell so will be getting a better car when i'm 20 with 2 years ncb. May aswell keep hold of mine untill i can get something good rather than skinting myself on something average.

182 ftw, should be able to get one for £5000ish and insure it for 1200ish in two years.

I paid £735 with RAC last year (18 years) on my own poilcy fully comp no mods mum on policy to. Just had renwal and its £908 (now 19 years old) with exhaust cat back, lowered on sportlines, and OZ alloys all decleared. Rac charge 10% extra per mod. Just shopped around and found a quote from tesco £611 (standard car at 19 2 year ncb). Shop around mate but churhill group have always been cheaper for me. btw car is a 2006 1.2 16v, First year at 17 cost me £1300 with Nationwide.

I'd say you were getting shafted, i would be looking for prices below £1.5K.

Off who though places like bell that are supose to be good have quoted things like 6K insurance realy p**ses me off its a lottery which makes it 10X's more annoying

Should have 3yrs ncd when you're 20. Lots of companies will take the scooter NCD as a full yr to start with.

Try putting your mum/dad on the policy as this will lower the price on some policies!

Your lucky you don't live over here. 2000 would be a fantastic quote if you did!
