Insurance modification

So I just called my insurance company up '1st Central' and asked if they accept modifications with ongoing policy's and the statement I got was 'We insure modifications if they come standard with the car, if they are not standard we won't insure it'

So if I'm correct they just flat out don't insure modifications?

I'm with Brentacre and they insure mods.

It sounds like they don't insure non manufacturer approved modifications. So no Ktec etc (3rd party aftermarket mods)

But something like a Ford approved Mountune modification they would.

At least thats how I read it.

Or do they mean standard with a 'clio'. So if you have a 1.2, you could put clio 182 wheels on? Not exactly a clear definition!

I'm with Brentacre and they insure mods.

Just got quoted less than my current insurance with a couple of imaginary mods declared.
Good excuse to get an exhaust and call them back [emoji4]

Sounds like whoever you were speaking to was an idiot and mixed up options with modifications.

Try Greenlight too if you haven't already, incredibly cheap for modified stuff in my experience.
