im with tesco insurance, does anyone knowif they allow mods, cos everyones always told me its just things like alloys and induc kits that need submitting to insurance companys.

im with Tesco myself

and yes they allow mods.

They didnt charge me much for mine.

Rign them up and tell them wot you have done/doing to the car then they will recalculate your policy weather or not it will go up.

With Tescos, I was told you had to be over 25 to allow mods.

and yes you tell them everything basicly.

E.G.

You color code your door strips, if you crash it will cost them more to replace them.

or may not pay out as you have colour coded them (yes stupid i know but it happens)

I think the allowing mods depends alot on the individual driver.

When I was with Direct Line at 18, they would allow me to put alloys on my car, then when I turned 19 (and had had a crash) they decided I had to be 25.

As for declaring, I would declare anything that changes your car, just isnt worth the hassle. Insurance companies are in the game to make money, they dont make money by paying out for claims, therefore do their upmost to avoid it, that includes looking at every minor detail of the car.

If youre unsure, phone them and say you are thinking about doing something, if it changes your premium, you either have to pay it or not do it.
