Insurance

  Petrol Blue 182

Who you all with i need a 172 and all my quotes are being stupid today!!

Best i got is £4350!!

Im 20 wi sp30 and 1 claim no NCD

Plz help ME!!!

I was with Admiral for my 172 (now deceased :) ) First year was £960 went down to £800 and this year would have been lower.

But unlike you Im 31 with 5 years NCD 1 Claim and no Endorsements, and have been driving over 10 years.

Some insurance companys wont even give you a quote (I suspect) your are going to get some very high quotes.

Let us know how you get on, but you might need to "re-evaluate" your Car choice :) 172s are great however :)

Hiya

Try Direct Line. I have an SP30 and mines only £640! I think i get 10% for having other insurance with them, but everywhere else was over £1000, so its worth a try..... Good Luck.

me too, my cheapest quote on my 1.2 ws 2300 pound in my name so there for i insured it in my mums name and me as a named driver for 1089 pound still way to expensive though :(

I did loads of phoning around when I got my 172, elephant.co.uk worked out the cheapest, can sort it all out online too. Im 25 with 2 years no claims, its about £700 Fully comp.

  Meg on pistonheads £6995

Dods

I pay £400 for a dCi @ 35 with an identical sp30 & claim

it aint gonna be below £1500 - Id be about 700!

soz :(

a chipped dCi is a feck of a lot quicker than a 1.2??

OR nice Black VTS on CS for £3200 - older and cheaper to insure than 172!

I have a Cup!!! Im 23, 6 points for an IN10 (no insurance) and mine is £1200 fully comp!!! With Egg and they also do 12 months interest free which is why i went with that option!!

Mines only 1400 mate and im 18 and have a cup on my mums insurance. Thats with elephant.

i wouldnt go with the 10month bonus accelerator that elephant do as when it you go to renew your policy your prob find that not alot of insurance companies will accept it as 1yrs NCD, so you will end up renewing your policy with elephant and they might not be the cheapest for you the 2nd yr running, bit of a con really i think.

  Remapped derv Golf

With with Tesco atm and paying £91 a month

Ive got my renewal coming up in september and so far Axa is the cheapist at £657 with £275 excess (25, 7 yrs ncb,sp30 and 1 claim) with my mother on the policy as a named driver.

Anyone know any other good ones?

Tired Admiral, green light, elephant, Budget (my arse! wanted £1300), Directline, bell direct, Churchill - all more than Axa was.

  ex Clio 172 owner :(

Like Adamf says, try putting your mother on. Knocks it down around 15% with elephant and a lot of others.

You young-uns ought to drive bangers insured TPO and save your insurance money till your 25, when your paying thounsands it would soon add up. (how old do i sound:sick:)

Youll have that V6 before you know it with all the cash you save.

Me and the missus are both 26 and it costs us £540 F/C for our 172. Thats direct line.

My 1988 205gti costs more though for some reason.

2001 Mk 1 172

24, 4 yrs NCD, No convictions (yet) ;)

£700 with Privilege
(Paid same amount on my old 1.4 Astra LSi only 2 years ago)

A mate of mine put his Mum on his policy and the savings pretty much canceled out his SP30 increase!!!
