Insuring a car you no longer own

  RB Clio 182
Right, Im currently stuck between the sale my Saxo VTS and buying a Clio 182.
Although I do not own or have access to the VTS im still insured on it. What are the legalities of doing this? As I dont really want to suspend the insurance as I still drive my dads and gfs car 3rd party on the insurance.

Doesn't matter what car you are insured on as long as you have permission to be insured on the car. But would it not be easier just to tranfer the insurance to your GF car?

Cheers for the help. Ill get transfered on to my gf's insurance for a while, will work out cheaper as well as its only a 1.0l :)

Should have posted here ;)

Sorry, didnt see that. Im used to SaxP, they have their own insurance section **hint hint mods**, lol.

I believe it is illegal as the new owner will probably be insuring the car, the same car is not allowed to be insured twice.

so you wont be able to transfer your insurance onto your gfs as that means her car is insured twice then too

Speak to the insurer about freezing your policy. I'm sure I've heard in this event that you can put the policy on hold for a limited period then start it back up once you have the new car.
