How much would it be for an 18 year old to be insured on a :
Clio 182
Clio 172 Mk I or II
Clio Williams 1,2 or 3
Plz help, its just a general enquiry at the moment ???

  1.6 Astra ... R.I.P. 182
depends on alot of things like area ? amount of experience ? amount of ncd ? where car is parked ? .... the list goes on.

but im 19, 2ncb, car on street, bad postcode, £1200 on a 182

  1.6 Focus, 1.6 122S
£2,500 upwards for the Mk2's

£1,750 upwards for the Willy's, i would think

thats assuming youve just got your licence and have no no claims

£2500+ with one of the "lesser" known companies and most will refuse you.

At your age their prime concern is you writing it off (and any other cars in the process) and security to a lesser extent.

Is there any ways to get it lower in price like if it was a 172 Mk II ???

  Fabia VRS & Yeti
my 182 cost me £2050 to insure for 10mnths with elephant. I'm 24 no ncb (small prang lst yr, my fault) and live in N. London, en2. Nextbest quote was tesco £2500. Thank the lord for monthly payments!

Third party is obviously cheaper but I wouldn't entertain that idea on a car worth any real money.

Unfortunately a group 16 mixed with a very young driver equals expensive insurance. You could put it in the name of a family member and be a named driver but you wont build up your own NC bonus.

I've got 1yr ncb, 18, had license 1 yr, not a bad postcode, best quote I got was £3500 on a mk2 172. Gave up with that idea and getting a yaris t-sport instead.
Planning on keeping that for 18months using norwich unions bonus accelerator to hopefully get 3yr ncb then 182 time.

yep.. but check this out..

directline allow their named drivers to earn no claims bonuses, so long as they use directline when they come to ensure it on their own..

im wit em.. quite handy.

  1.6 Astra ... R.I.P. 182
but again as ive said in another thread i think theres no point doing this unless your using your mums car as if u crash and you own the car but not the main policy holder its very unlikely that they will pay out.

So if i was able to get a Clio Sport and if i put it under my Mum or Dads name it would be cheaper ???

  1.6 Astra ... R.I.P. 182
yes but not worth doing it. you wont get paid out if you crash.
also its illegal if you own the car on the V5 and not them.

Seems that i'm just better hanging back for a couple more years then.

  1.6 Astra ... R.I.P. 182
try it with putting your mum as a named driver on YOUR policy. usually brings it down for some reason.

  1.4 16v dynamique
hi, yea best to hang back for now, for example i'm 19, driving 2 years with corsa sxi, recently got a mk2 1.416v dynamique as a present, my insurance last march on the 1.216v sxi was 800, this year on the clio its 602.99 off the rac (just sorted it out now), i only had 3 companies that were less than 1k, btw this is fully comp, my own policy with 2yrs ncd

build up ur ncd faster using them 10months schemes that some insurance companies do like norwich union
