Hi guys i currently have a 1.2 dynamique 03 plate and am interseted in getting a 182 (racin blue) ,Im currently paying finance on me 1.2 and still have a bit to pay off do you think the best idea would be to pay the finance off on the 1.2 and chop it in with the renault dealer i brought it from and also get the 182 from them or would u say sell it private or even part exchange with another garage where ive seen 1 who will pay the remainder off and effectivly start again.

Insurance may also be a problem as im only 19 but when i plan on getting it i should have 2yrs no claims.

What would you guys do?

Im in the same situation mate i have my 1.2 extreme on lease and after the 2 years im interested in getting a 182 and will be 19 with hopefully 2 years no claims but im not sure how im going to pay for the 182?? Loan maybe....

glad you are thinking of a change, guys. but- the step up to 182 is bigger than you think- mine does a max of 30mpg strictly super98, it drinks oil and not the cheap stuff, insurance is high, there is huge depreciation, bits need fixing and if you buy a lemon like many of my friends on here have then it will cost you a lot of time, effort and patience.

best car ive driven for a while though.

try and make it work- see renault about insurance, or tescos.

ggod luck,d

According to my trip computer, i averaged 40.2 mpg on the way to stirling on the motorway, so the 182 can be driven economically ;).

why not just get a 172, either mkI or II? performance wise they are pretty much the same as a 182, but at half the price?

why do you want all that debt @ 19!!

no need.

^^^ here here!

No point spending all that money on a new 182 in youre position. I know too many people who have done the same and regreted it.

Save a bit and sell youre 1.2 private then buy a 172 around the same age.

I got my 182 when i was 20 had it just under a year now insurance to begin with was 1800 squid with 1yrs ncb, has since gone down 800quid with elephant.co.uk 10month deal. But expensive to run i get 28mpg and thats as far as it goes unfortunately. Not had any serious probs yet (touch wood) but well worth gettin lots of fun!

I wish that I could have bought a 182 when I was 19! Instead I had a beat-up ten year old 1.3 Metro and still was paying through the nose for insurance ...

For reference and if it helps, I am paying around 550 squids and Im 30 somthing with 4 years NCB.

I still have quite a bit to pay off on my 172 (Ive not even had it a year!) but its a loan, not finance. Im going to take out another loan, pay off the other one and give the difference to the dealer - that way it will only cost me £35 more a month to have the 182 :D.
