interior light...... weird one :S

  Golf GTI 1.8T
Well I've got a 172 interior light in now which looks better but puts out less light than my old one cos its like half the size.

anywhoo I put colour changing led's in there for a laugh which was fine. no I finally got quad led ones to replace them and this is what happens.

Doors open/switched on etc looks like this...

Unlike the normally 501 bulb that was in there this new led stays glowing very slightly when turned off :S how can it???

Mine is the same, I've got a giant led one in there which even when the car is inactive its been lightly glowing 24/7 since it was installed - okay taped in as its too big to fit into the holder.

  Mégane RS
yeah they do this, its like they idle lol, the only way to sort it out i suppose is load ressistors but not really worth it, its something to do with the voltage its still getting

  Golf GTI 1.8T
tis very odd, cant see how voltage can still be getting to it as its not across any of the terminals in the back. dont matter just wondered cos it didnt do it on the bulb iirc or maybe i just didnt notice cos it was so dim.

yeh im having the same problem, but when i lock the car the dim disappears?

have any one u guys had drained batterys from the dimmed light being left on??

  nothing, blown up!
ueah i was wandering that i bought sum red ones to go in my foot wells. then found i dont have footwelll lights lol. so out in my ONE above my head but its was always still dim??/ so i thought must have power therfore must be using battery?

  Mégane RS
it uses next to nothing when its slightly glowing, i left my leds on all day a good 12hrs and battery was fine

  Golf GTI 1.8T
If they are LED's then you have nothing to worry about from the dim glow, LED's use about 0.001 watt of power when being used on full, and could probably run for years off a car battery lol.

my interior light still glows when the doors are locked.

  Mégane RS
mine does too lol, might put a resistor in there to see if i can stop mine though

  Golf MK4 GTi 1.8T
Got the same dim greenish grow issue with the two quad leds installed in mine as well. Not really an issue since they seem to go off completely once the car is locked.
