Interior respray cost

I know some of you guys are as mad as me and insist on stripping your car so Im hoping someone has had this done!!

Basically, I would deliver the car to the bodyshop with everything out bar the seats and cage and want it spraying inside. I dont want to piss about preppeing any more than that... so any ideas cost wise guys?

Our track car was completely sprayed blck inside, can not give you a price though. ;) was done as a favor.

bit off topic but I was quoted £1,500 to fully strip, prep, weld a 6 point cage to any racing spec, then complete internal spray... does that sound about right?

  Whichever has fuel
I'm sending mine away to get the inside done.

I'll have a bash at most things but that is far too much like effort. Loads of masking/prepping.... God, i'm getting bored of it already! lol.

two local body shops I tried did not want to do the job LOL... Too much messing around for them!

So I decided to go DIY stylie... It really was not difficult

Prep time 4 hours

First coat of paint 1 hour

Second coat of paint another hour

Then left the car over night to dry ;)

I used synthetic paint, this requires no primer and will pretty much paint onto any surface with no minimal prep work (A quick wipe down with white spirit)

I really want to do mine but know that as soon as somethings put in it it will get scratched

Mine has stood up pretty well to scratches... Various trips to the tip, weekends away, wheels and tyres in the back etc.

Near enough no scratches at all tbh!

Be warned, a lot of bodyshops will probably give you ridiculous prices simply because they don't want to do the job.

For those people who have done it, any idea on a rough cost?

When I do mine, I will need primer, and then two coats of paint, but Im not sure how many cans I will need :)

Then polycarb, lighter seats, custom dash set up (also secret) and some flocking!

Fogs out (today) Air con out,

Then..... I think Im done!! ;)
