Over the last few months my 172 cup went through a period of stalling on full lock. There didnt seem to be much of a pattern, sometimes it would do it, sometimes not. Having researched the forums and internet, it seemed this was a semi common problem, but one without a definitive solution.
Typical solutions put forward included cleaning the throttle body, getting a new throttle body, looking at the power steering switch, etc.
To cut a long story short, I set about cleaning the throttle body (was worth it without the problem as its all cleaned up now) and cleaned up the MAP sensor. Touch wood so far the problem is gone and it no longer stalls, so Id like to think the problem was linked to one of these two items.
I hope this advice may be useful for anyone who is also having this problem as it was very frustrating, especially not knowing exactly what was causing it.
