Internet connection on ps3 using ubuntu 7.10

Cant seem to get the connection working for the life of me. tried everything. direct connection to the router, got it to try and pick up an address via dhcp, even gave it an address, enable/disable roaming. restarted the router. nothing seems to work. Any ideas guys.........

Im pretty sure its a problem with drivers.
I tried it myself and had problems locating the correct drivers for the system.
try googling "ps3 ethernet drivers linux"
