iPhone 3G Help!

Woke up this morning and checked my eBay on my phone, had plenty of battery left. My phone just cut out and turned off and when I tried to turn it back on again it had a red battery bar and the power source logo. I'm assuming it died 'cos of the battery but it was nearly full :S The phone is only 5 months old too, just got it charging up while I'm on here but has anyone had any similar problems? Cheers.

It'll be that some app hasn't been closed by the OS and has subsequently run the battery down.

Restart the phone and recharge it, problem solved.

Kinda thought after I posted this that's what it could be, if it carries on I'll just have to book an appointment at the Apple store and get it checked out. Cheers.
