Ipod Classic, or Creative Zen

I've currently got a Creative V+ 4GB mp3 player, but it's full now, and I would like to put all my cd's on but there isn't room so I need a bigger capacity.

I really quite like the Creative, and really quite dislike Apple products tbh, but everything is aimed at the ipod like docking stations, hi-fi connections, in-car kits.

I like the Creative Zen 16GB or 32GB, which are £140 and £200 respectivly, but you can get an ipod classic 80GB for £150, which is much bigger (although old skool hard disk) and will be better for accesories. Only major downside is lack of FM tuner, as I like to listen to the radio with it sometimes, but can get a plug in one for £35 if I really want one.

So, what should I get?

Are there any major flaws with Apple software? I have loads of mp3s on my laptop that have been sourced from different places not itunes or anything like that.

Zen, I gotta a Zen, replaced my Gen 1 Ipod Mini when it went bang, and I will never be going back to Apple again, the Craetive is a far superior player and the software is so much better than i-tunes....

Mmm I've heard itunes is rubbish.

Also heard itunes converts all your mp3s into m4 somethings which means I will have to have twice as much hard drive space taken up as well.

Mine hasnt done that. iTunes isnt the best software ever created, but it does its job.

Big jump from the 32GB you're looking at to the 80GB iPod tho..

Personally, I wouldnt get anything other than an iPod. Thats probably because im a brand wh0re but its the market leader and will continue to be, thats because its the best IMO.

Well 32GB will be plenty, but ipod jump from 8GB nano to 80GB classic. Don't want a touch, 32GB one too expensive.

As long as itunes doesn't bugger up my mp3s I already have, I will get one. I prefer the creative zen I think, but all audio accessories are designed for the ipod, like car kits, and radio alarm clocks etc.

And for £145 I can get 80gb ipod, for just over £200 I can get a 32gb creative.

I had a Zen Micro going back a few years and kept it all of a month as I hated it. I now have an iPOD Nano which when it works (there have been a few niggles) is the best thing since sliced bread.

Personally I prefer the iPOD and iTunes but then I am unfairly comparing it with a far older generation Zen. The gap is huge though so Creative would have to do have done a lot of work to make their current players as good.

Creative is the best out of the two.

Ordered the brick that is the ipod though as its cheaper with more storage.
