IPOD/Fitting to my head unit.

Lovely had an iPOD for Christmas, popped to Halfords yesterday to have it fitted but they wanted £99 to connect it up! Is this right? I didn't have it done, is there another way or does anyone know how to do it? I'm running an Alpine unit, my mate has the same one with his connected up but he had it done free when he bought his head unit.

Anyone help?

And installing it you could prolly do yourself its pretty much 1 or 2 wires and your done. Not a hard job.

i have the same, got mine with the headunit tho, fittings easy the lead just goes into the cd changer bit, and you can feed the wire from the headunit down the lefthandside behind the aircon (theres a littlegap) and put the unit it the glove box along with the ipod. it takes a little fiddling to get it through but its better than drilling holes.

question tho, why the hell is the box so big?

Like the headunits i know mine has bits stick out the back on cables that nothing plugs into just little boxes.

i just put mine in thru the aux input at the back of my headunit, very easy to do took 5 mins, and its free

if ur headunits got an input that is

That means you still need to use the ipod to change tracks etc. With that adaptor the ipod becomes integrated into the system and you can leave it in the glovebox or somewhre else out of sight and just use the headunit to change tracks create playlists etc.

Little bit more but worthwhile in a way. I just stick everything on MP3 cd's though. Next upgrade is a 6 disk MP3 changer. Take me a whiel to get through all that lol.

i have trouble filling up an mp3 cd as it is 48 gig of mp3s and i struggle; go figure
