Ipod touch not turning on

All of a sudden today, the battery went so it powered down, charged it for a good few hours then went to turn it back on... i get the white apple logo but it wont go any further, just turns back off.

Itunes wont recognize its plugged in either... its a good 4 years old now so passed the warrenty.

Anything i can try. i'll give it a proper charge tonight and check again in the morn too.

think the battery is fried...mine has done the same thing as yours and now it doesnt do a thing

Is it best to just fork out for a new one or is getting a new batt better.

I was using my mates the other day and it did this i left if for a while then plugged it in into the computer it recognized it i reset it all then it went back to working fine lol!

Haha, well i hope i'll be so lucky.

If not a trip to the apple store is in order.

No anywhere in manc to upgrade my imacs RAM, dont really want to go to apple... for that.

My has done this before, i think i left it a while and then just kept hold of the on button or the only other button just below the screen. might even be worth tryin both at the same time as im sure somthing resets the ipod.

I got mine working again so might not be a fried battery.
