ipod touch question

  M135i
Recently my pc fooked up so aint been able to use it, Im currently using a temp comp that we had spare, i was just wondering if i put i tunes onto this temp pc and synced my i pod would i lose all my songs/vids/photos ? as there is nothin at all on the pc atm.

Also i upgraded my i-pod so i can download games and aplications onto it so would i lose this upgrade if i installed a new i tunes onto this pc ?

Thanks alot in advance

The iPod will only sync with 1 copy of iTunes.

If you plug it in to the new computer, to be able to add more songs etc, then it will want to wipe the iPod and you to start again.

Same goes for updating the firmware.

yes for the music, but you can authorise the new PC for the applications through iTunes on the spare PC. Careful though as you'll need to sort the music bit first, as iTunes will be wiping the music off the ipod while your authorising the applications lol

If you want to get the music onto the new PC, you'll need to use something like CopyTran. Do that first, then use iTunes to authorise the apps.

Its a pain and getting it wrong is easy

Whats the best thing to do then if i wana keep all the songs on i have now + add some more ?

Is there not a way to get all the songs onto a pc with out wipeing all the songs off the i pod ?

someone recomendded a program called iDump to get your songs off your ipod, so in theory you could use that to get all your songs off your iTouch.

Then add them on your spare PC to your iTunes library and add them back on to your iTouch

The first sync will take ages as it will think you are using a different iTunes library and will wipe and re-write everything

sounds like it could work to me
