iPODs and mixed CDs

How does an ipod handle mixed DJ CDs that have individual track markers. Will it play the album seamlessly (unless it's jules or tongy), or 'jerk' between tracks?

not really sure, just rip it to mp3 and stick it on and hope for the best, doesnt take long anyway, be interesting to see the outcome...

The short answer to this is no. For seamless playback it has to be one long track. Drove me crazy when I got my ipod 1.5 years ago but I wouldnt be without it now regardless.

Some searching will tell you why in cant be done.

There does finally appear to be a workaround.....but only if you have a Mac currently !

You get one long track, no individual track info, you can skip to points in the track. I would love this facility as I have tons of mix cd's. Im sure someone will create a windows tool to do this, or maybee there is one already ? but I searched and couldnt find.

yeah its annoying as hell if u ripped a mixed cd with track markers, cos u get the annoying gap.

I get most of my mixes on one big mp3 now to get round it

Hmmm, I know I can record the CD into my computer and then create the mix as a single MP3 but that means recording in real time, or some editing together of the individual ripped tracks in cubase/logic etc - pain in the arse!
