Is 30bhp noticable?

  Discounted 1*2 parts
Just a quickie..

Is the 30bhp gain you generally get from ITB's noticable? Doesn't seem like a lot for the £2500?

Presumably you will gain more if you were cammed as well?

depends how well it's done for midrange gains. Torque increase at points in the rev range where you accelerate from is what you need to consider. Very different car with ITBs

Personally, in relation to the relative £2,500 spend I don't think it's enough. If it's a track car spend it on brakes/suspension. If it's a straight line car, get something else. That's all my opinion I know there will be alot that disagree.

why spend 2500???

itb's new ecu and custom map can be done for circa 1200. then its well worth it.

but i gained 45bhp.....

The power figure is almost irrelevant wen looking at bodies because it the way the power is delivered throughout the rev range and also for how much longer it makes the power for.
The standard 182 only really makes power between 5k rpm and 6.5k rpm so youve only got an area of around 1500rpm max where the car is actuallly doing something.
With bodies that is opened up massively throughout all the rev range due to much more torque but as with the standard car, above 5k is where the car really starts to wake up but unlike the standard car it keeps producing power for almost a 1000rpm longer.
U really need to drive one with them to appreciate the difference!! Figures only tell a tiny bit of the story :)

I imagine hes talking about bike carbs.

ITB's alone are around £1100

Best bet is waiting till you find some second hand, they become a real bargain then! :)

This is the best option. I'm finding ITB's brand new to be way out my price range/budget.

So OP, best bet is to keep your eyes peeled for second hand bargains!

yeah i fitted bike boddies. not carbs
i even run the bike injectors as they can deliver plenty of fuel and have an impressive 12 hole spray pattern. 1*2's only have 4 hole's. the better spray pattern aids atomisation and air mixture precylinder.

im sick of people saying that its jenvey or nothing, there are other perfectly viable options out there.

you gained 45bhp from fitting bike boddies and it only cost 1200 mapped????????

please clarify this for me, where from, who fitted, who mapped please mate

i have had my car done by these guys for £2100 all in , mine is fly by wire though so needed a new pedal , stand alone ecu as well with jenvey throttle bodies all fitted and map'd for £2100 , www.mtechautomotive.co.uk

what power have you come out with? i realise it isn't everything but just interested to know, thought itb's where much more than this!

To answer the original question, try driving a 1.2 clio then a 1.6 clio, or a Twingo GT then a Twingo 133.
