Is it really that noticable

Ive been reading through alot of the back posts and notice many 172 owners talking about getting a "fast un" rather than a "slow un".

Is it that noticable? can you really tell the difference? Id have thought if they all have the same horses - theyd all be the same!

And does it apply just to 172s? Will my 16v Clio be vastly different to another one?

yes it seems to be very noticeable oh and they dont have the same power some vary wildly

I guess only people that have drivin fast and slow ones can tell you - having had similar power cars my Williams seems a lot faster than I thought it would be but I havent driven another yet to compare.

Ive driven 4 172s and a V6, they have all been fast!!! Tho I must add, that mine seems to improve with age...a bit like me

ask Rhys! think its fair to say his Mk2 was a dog (by his own admissions!), whereas his mk1 is an absolute flying machine!

So yeah, it is! Mine seems faster than loads of other 172s according to people whove raced or been in it.

Heh - ill bet!

The only reason I realised mine was faster that the other 1.8 I drove was because it had a 2.0l in it! Either the seller forgot to mention, or simply didnt know it was in there!

Slighty pleased I was - although I was a bit dissapointed too as I wanted a totally original car - which I got apart from the engine.

Would it not be possible to get your 172 swapped by renault if it arrives and you have a solw un?? If you could prove (RR) that it has low BHP then isnt it false advertising. With it being a 172 and all that.
