Is it worth modding

hey guys, ive just sorted out all the body styling on my v reg 1.6 RXE (5 door), its 16 v and all round is ok, but now of course ill be looking at top speed/acceleration, its do u think im wasting my time here? cos if so i think id rather save and wait till im a bit older and get a 172, im hoping i wont have to do this as i love this car now, just need a bit mroe out of it, esp acceleration, what do you guys think, honestly?

Save for a 172. Not knocking the 1.6, but if you want performance mods, you might as well just buy the 172 and have all the toys and nice seats. Would like to tune the 172, but in reality, theres no point. Would cost so much to see decent gains, I might as well just wait until i can afford an Evo or an STi.

Get someone to take you out in a 172 or go test drive one. Dont think youll be disappointed if you like your car and want it to go quicker. I went from a 1.4 16v to a 172. Pleasant jump in perforamance.

im wiv ya, do u think that will make much difference? i got a new quad exhaust going on, same as the one on the carzone kit. the only thing stopping on a 172 is my age and insurance, am only 18 so it will hurt!

:) hmm....well ive spent a total of 5 k on the car so far the only thing holding me back will be the enormous insurance so i mite as well stick with this, s1600 parts u say, im well new to this so am quite unsure of what these parts are and how much they cost/cost to have fitted? but i do here ur the performance guru ben :)
