From a 1999 1.2 RN the same as the Gear Box in Mk 2 Phase 1 1.4?

Same JC1 I think but different versions. It will fit though.

Is the 1.2 gearbox strong enough fora 1.4?

Basically i bought a Box froma X reg with 31k on the clock abouta eyar a go, never got round to using it, my friend ahsa T reg 1.4 8v, and needs a new box, he wants to buy this off me, but dontwant to sell it him if its not going to work?

The JC1 box isn't strong but it as used on the 1.4 16V.
Its the intenrals which are more likly to be a bit stronger on the 1.4 one maybe longer ratios. it should be just as stong as the original but unless you strip the box down and check thicnkess you'll never know I wouldn't worry about it though.
