The ph1 will be a future classic, its got the "hardcore" looks or you could even say "ugly" and will be the Renault 5 GT turbo of today but only original examples with low miles.
When was the last time you saw a 80`s Hot hatch" on the road? I have never in my time of owning my ph1 seen another ph1 172 loads of ph2`s and even the cups but not the ph1 172.

Only 1300 officially imported by Renault into the UK, thats 13 hundred not thousand. (excluding car supermarkets)
Give it a few more years and they'll be getting hard to come by.
Given enough time all the 1*2's will become classics.
Also why does everyone seem to assume that a car has to be a performance car to become a classic?
The inferno could be a classic case of what colour not to paint a car.
Knows it! Although I did used to own a yellow car!
so you think the clio extreme could be a classic? lol
Yes, in 30-40 years just like the 2CV's, old mini's, Ford Anglia's etc are now....
think of the type of character and history of all those cars. now think of the clio extreme which has neither.
the V6 or Trophy are the only 2 with a chance.
the V6 has the best chance mainly because most people buy them just to say they had or have one.
