Yeah but the amount of times I'll use it, it's more than adequate (if it was good enough as you said its not)

Think about it this way, lets say you spend £40 and got it and like you've stated would only use i a few times but when you do use it you end up wrecking your paintwork then you will have to spend lots of money on rectifying this.

Do it properly or not at all is my advise, either spend more money and get something tried and tested/trusted or wait and try and buy a second had decent bit of kit to save money.
