Is this the gear selector and why is it covered in oil?

Evening CS'ers

I have serviced my Dci tonight and while under the car draining the oil i noticed what i believe is the gear selector and area close to it which is covered in oil.

Im assuming this shouldnt be like this but wondering if anyone can confirm what it is. Is it a seal that may be leaking?
Also, the selector (part i believe is the selector) is very wobbly and moves all over the place with a simple touch of the finger. Is this normal? Its as if you can hear it going into gear with a slight move of the finger.

Even my 200 was 'moist' in that area

What about the movement? That cant be normal. Even when out of gear in the car there is a load of movement from the gear stick
