issue with work laptop please help

my laptop was working fine then i went onto google street view and it said theres a new version of flash out i need to update. so phoned it and they did the standard flash update and thats when things went bad.

i now cant view the web properly as shown in the below pic. IT have tried all kinds of things and just cant get it to work. they are now planning on reinstalling windows on the hard drive to fix it.

anyone got any suggestions?

download mozilla firefox as a temp measure. or try and install an older version of flash. which version do you currently have installed?

cant do things like that computers are locked down.

i now have the latest version of flash, it installs fine on the machine.

do you have a pen drive? and do you have free access to download stuff? you could download the portable verison of mozilla and run it from a pen drive. otherwise just do a reboot of the PC if you havent already? this could fix the problem.

i do have a pen drive that works yes. how does this portable version thing work?

this issues has been going on for over a week the laptop has been restarted 10-20 times

if not then possibly try this

tools>internet options>security and change security level to medium

pretty much, you install it to the memory stick. try the security settings one. that might work. but yeah you install it onto the memory stick (so it doesnt actually install to the pc itself. and then click the .exe file thats in the memory stick so it opens.

here some more info on the situation.

if an admin guys log onto my machine he has full admin rights and the web works fine. but as soon as i go on i have this issue.

so last option is a reinstall

its something to do with your personal settings then. clearly you need to change the security settings or something. did you give it a try?

yes that has been tried, they also set me up a new profile but same thing

i had a similar problem with flash, but in firefox, recently. kept crashing every time i hybernated the laptop and wouldn't work without a full restart. I think i disabled some of the flash add-ons and it sorted it

sounds like a flash problem. if you phone it through will they not let you install an older version of flash. or a newer version of internet explorer (this is the best option.)

they have installed a newer version of ie im running v6 or 7 now.

not sure on getting an older version of flashed install not tried.

got mozilla working but when i tried google street view it says i need to updated flash to v10. so clearly flash isnt installed properly. but i can at least view web sites properly now

good. like i said its a temporary fix.

i think something must not be compatible with the new flash. id definatley reccomend downgrading.
