Why when i give my 172 a oil change does it take ages before the oil reaches the sump?

Takes about 2 hours + to drop down!

Should i be taking a breather pipe off or something?

thats not right mate! should only take a couple of min!

although the dipstick only shows around 0.5-0.7

i whack in 4L, then wait 5min then slowly add more

No been using Silkolene.

From the first day i started to change my own oil its been like this.

Why i ask is i thought this was ''normal'' for these, all be it a bit strange lol, but my mate who works as a trainee mechanic said something about taking a pipe off to release the vacum or something?

Ive had minor head work in there. Hope i havent got a blockage. Oil does get down in the end tho so god knows
