I need to get a shorter rad for my rally car so i can run a filter box on my ITB's. Is there a decent size/quality rad that can be used from another car (not the polo/ibiza one) or a good place that can supply a custom made one for reasonabled money.

Cheers,

Mike

I've used the following on mine but they are currently out of stock hence the silly price. I paid £125 for mine

Thats exactly what i am looking for :) Im guessing you had those extra brackets welded on? so the rad is fully welded and not a combination or weld and epoxy? They do a similar one for the mk2 golf that i was looking at getting to modify.

Man that looks so much nicer than the cheap polo rad....

Another item added to me "to do" list lol
Yes Phil and much better cooling with it being larger :)

Yeah just welded a couple of studs to the bottom and then R-clipped them, then just used the M5 fan mounting points to create two mounts at the top. Seems to be fully welded from what i've seen and the quality is pretty good

Boston Radiator Services! Brillant service. I had a custom rad made and delivered to me within 2 days! I simply did the CAD drawings. It was £135 delivered in copper/brass or £240 delivered in alloy.

Ill have to keep an eye out and see if they come back in stock then, cheers for that. Dont suppose you know what the height mesurement is? im guessing around 12-13 inches.

I emailed them a few weeks ago as a friend was wanting one and they said stock expected in a couple of weeks so any time now. Not off the top of my head but I will have a measure in the morning when I'm in the garage :)

The Corrado/golf/sirocco alloy ones are a decent fit with very little modification. Just 2 vertical strips of metal between the 2 front rad mounts then a single screw/bolt thru the front cross member on each side, very simple install.

Rad size is: Core Size---525mm x 310mm x 50mm, Overall size-595mm x 325mm x 50mm

Hope this helps.

Search "Clio alloy radiator" or "golf alloy radiator" on eBay, there are loads to choose from but the golf items need small pieces welding to them or just bend up some brackets depending on what you want to do. The golf ones can be had in loads of different sizes too to suit your needs.
