i have a 197.
wanting throttle bodies.
how reliable is the car/engine once fitted PROPERLY and maintained properly?
any common problems with bodies or standalones?
It will be exactly same reliability as it is now really.
It may rev harder but all clios can happily rev over the factory limit with no probs at all.
On the 197 ITB kit i dont think the rev limit is raised and even it is is its only a very small amount.
At the end of the day its just allowing the air to get into the engine quicker. Nothing like supercharging or turbo etc.

If u do the omex kit u dont cut anything.
My 182 never had anything cut.
Im selling my bodies now tho but not cos of unreliability but cos i fancy a change.
Ive not got vids sorry

Yes, you'd be very impressed! I bought a phase 2 Saxo VTR about five months ago now as a side project to run as a track toy, dropped a 16v VTS engine in, along with cams and TB's. It's stripped with buckets, it goes and sounds amazing. Best of all, it looks like a standard VTR from the outside so it surprises many fast cars! Gotta love throttle bodies!
By the way, is yours a red 197 with gloss black alloys? Seen it around Wakefield if you have, I had a Clio Trophy but now I've got a Glacier White R26, keep your eye out if it's you!

bet the saxo is quicker than the meggy isnt it?
Yeah, I let my mate drive the Saxo while I was in my R26 and it pulled about two car lengths ahead to 70/80mph. Haven't tried them together once rolling, but TB's just seem to improve power and torque throughout the whole rev range, the noise is the thing I love about mine the most though! They're expensive, but in my opinion a better alternative to turbo or supercharging.
