Itb's and standard managment

  Trophy #473
Been reading alot of threads latelty regarding supercharger and turbo kits for 1*2's and its been mentioned about retaining the standard ECU instead of going OMEX etc. Could the principle be used for ITB's?

You can get the car to run and idle... just not very well. iirc headline figures are largely unaffected but drive and MPG suffer.

**please note this is only going by what I've seen personally, as this seems a sore subject**

Anything is possible. If a turbo setup can be run using standard ECU then there should be no problem applying this to 'lower power' producing ITB's, especially if you are running same compression and cams! I would say the fuelling is more demanding on the turbo setup.

Its not because the fuelling is more demanding its because your ditching the OEM inlet setup. Single TB map sensor etc...

The bodies are coming this week but the sticking point is the DBW motor is not ready yet. I'll convert to cable for the purpose of this test but i would like to think it's possible.

If I understand right.

ITB with the ph1 cabled-throttle it's possible already? well that's being tested? I have good confidence in this.

DBW is cool and would be possible too, me thinks. (seen a bit what henk / Fastchip, was able to do with throttle position related to pedal position, so there must be much more possible with the ECU)

Don't think the actuall fuel mapping would be a problem.
More the idle and other difficulties.

Goodluck Paul! Would be great if something like this gets working!
